“I am an Associate Professor at CSE department of Texas A&M University, where I direct the lab of Optimization for Machine learning and AI (OptMAI Lab). My research interests center around optimization, big data, machine learning and responsible AI.”
Kiara Berry | Founder & President
“ Howdy! I'm Kiara Berry and I am a senior computer science major and stats minor from Dallas, TX! I founded ADSC because there wasn't a main data science organization on campus and I wanted to bring a community where students in any major can learn more about DS and ML, discover their career paths, and grow in their skills while fostering new friendships! Outside of classes, I love reading, going to the gym, playing tennis, and traveling! Feel free to reach out if you ever want to chat, share book recs, or grab boba : ) ”
Anish Karthik | External Vice President
“ I'm Anish Karthik, and I am a sophomore computer science major (Class of ‘25). I'm originally from Allen, Texas. One interesting fact about me is that I watch most videos at 2x speed! I've been extremely interested in machine learning and artificial intelligence and its applications ever since I saw OpenAI design OpenAI Five and DeepMind's AlphaStar play Dota and StarCraft II. In that regard, I've been looking to do projects and in general learn more about Data Science, which led me to become the External VP of ADSC!”
Harsh Gangaramani | Internal Vice President
“ I am Harsh Gangaramani, and I am a sophomore computer science major (Class of 2025). I am from Katy, TX. This club has motivated me to explore the vast topics in Data Science, as well as meet more data science enthusiasts and learn new things from them! Outside of class, I like to watch F1 races, go to car meets, and sleep! ”
Eric Nunes | Treasurer
“ Howdy! I'm Eric Nunes, and I'm a class of '24 computer science major, mathematics minor, and statistics minor from Austin, TX. I joined ADSC because of my ambitions to become a data scientist, and I hope that during the school year, I am able to share this passion with others! Outside of this organization, I also serve as a peer teacher in the Computer Science Department, and some of my other interests include music, running, and reading. ”
Yeonsu Jung | Marketing Officer
“ Hello! My name is Yeonsu Jung, and I am a junior pursuing a double major in computer science and statistics. I am from Mckinney TX, which is a suburban city of Dallas. I became interested in data science when I participated in the TAMU Datathon in my sophomore year, but I noticed that there are not many data science-related organizations on campus. I am so glad that Kiara founded this organization and give me new opportunities to work as one of the officers :) ”
Rishu Prasad | Workshop Officer
“ Hello! I am Rishu Prasad and I am a Junior in Computer Science. I'm from San Antonio, TX, so my fun fact is that I'm a Spurs fan through and through. But I love watching the NBA and playing basketball! I joined ADSC because I am passionate about data science and machine learning, and teaching others is the most fulfilling way for me to use my skills but also learn more. Laren Spear | Workshop Officer
“ Howdy! I’m Laren Spear, a 2nd-year master’s student in computer science from San Antonio. I did my undergrad in chemistry at UT-Austin, although now my research area revolves around data mining and machine learning applied to social media. Having been a TA for multiple computer science courses, I am excited to be presenting workshops for the data science club this year. Outside of my academics, I am interested in travel, coffee, mixology, and electronic music. ”
Anna Jimenez | Workshop Officer

I am passionate about data science and am so excited to be leading some workshops with my fellow officers this year; planning our sessions and teaching others is a great way for me to continue learning as well. Shreeman Kuppa Jayaram | Workshop Officer
“ Howdy! I'm Shreeman Kuppa Jayaram and I'm a junior Computer Engineering Major all the way from Singapore. I joined ADSC when it was founded in 2021 because I believe Data Science is a valuable skill in industry and being able to teach others and support a community with their journey is very rewarding It's the reason why I became a workshops officer!
